9. Participation:

The European Rapid Chess Championship is open to all players representing ECU Chess Federation (FIDE zones 1.1-1.9) regardless of their title or rating.

Each player has to register at least two days before the start of the championships. The organizer shall have the right to reject registrations received after December 13th.

The list of participants will be regularly updated and published on the website www.poloniachess.pl, the final verification on the 15th of December 2007 at 9:15 a.m. at the playing hall; no changes will be possible after 9:30 a.m.

12. System of play:

All players play the 8-round Swiss Qualification Tournament with the rate of play G-15'+10" (15 minutes for a game for a player, with an increment of 10 seconds per move). After the 8th round 16 players qualify to the Final Tournament, which contains 4 Group Tournaments, Tournaments for places 5-8, 9-12, 13-16, the Semi-finals, the Match for the 3rd place and the Final. Players who didn't qualify to the Final Tournament play further 5 rounds for a win in the Swiss Tournament. The details of the system of play are described in the Tournament Rules.

15. Special conditions:

  1. Free participation: medallists of the European Rapid Chess Championship 2006, players with ELO rating at least 2600, women players with ELO rating at least 2400, if registered no later than on the 30th of November 2007
  2. Free accommodation (from 14.12.2007 till 17.12.2007) in a single room in the Hotel Ibis Stare Miasto: 10 highest seeded players if registered no later than on the 30th of November 2007
  3. Free accommodation (from 14.12.2007 till 17.12.2007) in a double room in the Hotel Ibis Stare Miasto: 10 players seeded 11-20 if registered no later than on the 30th of November 2007.
  4. Free accommodation (from 14.12.2007 till 17.12.2007) in a single room in the Hotel Ibis Stare Miasto: first highest seeded woman if registered no later than on the 30th of November 2007.
  5. The organizer will cover travel expenses (up to 300 €) for 3 highest seeded players if registered no later than on the 30th of November 2007

All players and accompanying persons have to insure themselves for health and accident risk.

18. Visas:

Players and accompanying persons wishing to receive an invitation for a visa from the organizer, according to the Polish law, have to stay at the official hotel.

Players and accompanying persons who prefer to stay at other hotel than the official ones, need to take care about their visa on their own.

The organizer will not be responsible for the participants' visas, if necessary information (last name, first name, passport number, date of issue and validity) will be sent after the 30th of November 2007.
