10. Tournament groups and entry fees:

Tournament A is open for players rated 2000 (Elo) and higher, with GM and IM norms available.

Entry fee: 140 PLN

Tournament B is open for players rated below 2000.

Entry fee: 120 PLN

A and B tournaments will be Elo rated.

Tournament C (chess prodigies) is open for players born 2001 and later.

Entry fee: 50 PLN

11. System of play and time control:

Tournaments A and B: Swiss system, 9 rounds. Time rate: 90 min. for 40 moves + 30 min. for the rest of the game, with an increment of 30 seconds per move starting from move 1.

Tournament C: Swiss system, 7 rounds. Time rate: 1 h. for the game (no increment).

12. Prizes:

Total prize fund is 40550 PLN (gross)

Tournament A: total prize fund 34500 PLN (gross)

Tournament B: total prize fund 6050 PLN (gross)

Tournament C: presents for all children. Three best players will gain the right to study at the Polonia Chess School in the school year 2011/12 free of charge.

Item prizes in the Festival: 80 items of the 10000 PLN total value.

Tournament C: item prizes for all children. Three best players will gain the right to study at the Polonia Chess School in the school year 2011/12 free of charge.

Remarks:

Prizes are not shared.

Not more than 2 prizes can be given to a player. If he/she wins more prizes, he/she receives the 2 highest. If the value of the prizes is equal, the player receives (if applicable) prizes in the following order:

for the final place

for the best girl (in the youngest category applicable)

for the best boy (in the youngest category applicable)

for the best player born 1951 or earlier

for the best woman

for the best place in rating groups (in as low rating group as possible)

All prizes are shown before taxes, the income tax of 10% will be deducted. According to the Polish law all prizes below 760 PLN are free of taxation.

ATTENTION! Applications, entry fees and hotel payments (if the organizer’s suggested hotel is chosen) should be sent by the 20th of June 2011.

For applications submitted later, the entry fees rise by 50 PLN.

- on the 14th of July 2011 from 12:00 pm until 3:00 pm at the Warsaw Sports and Recreation Centre, ul. Polna 7a (attention: only for foreign participants!)

14. Verification:

The list of the participants will be regularly updated and published on the website www.poloniachess.pl, and the final list will be posted up for the verification by the players in the playing hall on the 14th of July 2011at 4 pm.

15. Special Conditions:

free participation: Grandmasters and Women Grandmasters.

free accommodation and meals in the hotel Ibis Stare Miasto from 14.07.2011 till 22.07.2011 or in the hotel of the Warsaw Sports and Recreation Centre, ul. Polna 7a in a double room: 14 GMs in Tournament A (in order of application).

100 participants of the Festival may use the swimming-pool of the Centre free of charge daily from 7 pm till 10 pm.

16. Hotels:

Prices of accommodation:

Single room (with a bathroom, breakfast included): 1280 PLN for the whole stay (8x160 PLN)

Double room (with a bathroom, breakfast included): 640 PLN per person for the whole stay (8x80 PLN)

Prices of accommodation:

Triple room (with a bathroom, breakfast included): 640 PLN per person for the whole stay (8x80 PLN).

Quadruple room (with a bathroom, breakfast included): 560 PLN per person for the whole stay (8x70 PLN).

17. Insurance: The players have to insure themselves for health and accident risk.
